It is a requirement of Health and Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in.

If your assessment, of First Aid needs, highlights the need to maintain the qualification of your First Aiders, then this course will provide you with that.

The comprehensive two day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition to this, should there have been any change to protocols since their initial qualification, this will be updated.

This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (1981).

A minimum of 12 hours over at least two days. Ideally, the course should be run over two consecutive days but we have the flexibility to accommodate specific needs.

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Control of bleeding
  • Head injuries
  • Resuscitation
  • Bandaging
  • Eye injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Sprains
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Fractures

  • Burns

Subject to assessment, participants will be issued a First Aid at Work certificate and a wallet card complying with the Health and Safety Executive requirements for a further three years.
